Delivering Successful Safaris for more than 10 years.

Your Moose and Photo safari begins in Millinocket, heart of the Katahdin Region. You will ride in the comfort of a van that is:

Clean
Air Conditioned
Smoke Free
Comfortable

Those who do wish to smoke will have plenty of opportunity to do so outside the van on any of our frequent stops.

We are the only "Moose Safari" that GUARANTEES MOOSE SIGHTINGS OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!!  How can you beat that?  Check it out at Our Guarantee.

Millinocket, The Katahdin Region and Baxter State Park are best described as "MOOSE COUNTRY". During our 1999 season we had a 100% success rate for seeing moose between May and September, 5 to 17 moose per evening tour. During our 2000 season we saw moose on every safari from May until mid September. One evening in June we saw 36 moose in a 4 to 5 hour tour. This is above average and not to be expected but we typically see 6 to 20 moose per evening in June.  During the 2003 season we saw moose on every trip out from May until October with the exception of four evenings (2 in late Aug. and 2 in Sept.).   In 2004 we saw moose on every tour until the end of August and then we had only 2 trips that didn't produce moose.  We also had one trip in September when we didn't see any moose, but considering that we are out there pretty much six days a week and only had three trips from May till the end of September that didn't see moose I think you will agree those are great averages.  During the 2005 season we again had a very successful year with only a couple safaris in August and one is September when we were unable to find moose.  There was also one trip in October when we were unsuccessful due to unseasonably warm weather.

The 2006 season was another success story for safaris through August we had 100% success finding and photographing moose.  For this reason our Money Back Guarantee will be extended through August in 2007 and also through August in 2008. We had a few trips in 2007 when we were not able to locate moose but through August there were a total of five trips with no success.  No other moose safaris can make that claim especially if they are taking people out 7 days a week like we are.

Why?

Because we know where the moose are on a daily basis! We will save you valuable vacation time and wear and tear on your vehicle over some of Katahdin's toughest terrain. You could spend days trying to find moose on your own, let us take all the guess work out of it and you'll be photographing moose before you know it. As we are riding you will learn many moose, deer and regional facts that you would miss on your own.

The Katahdin Area probably has more moose per square mile than any other place in Maine. Some of our safari guests say," they have been coming to Maine for years and never seen a moose". Our reply to that is, "they have not been going with us."

Usually we can safely get you, "up close and personal" with moose, sometimes within 35 feet.

What makes this area different from the rest of Maine?

Unlike Coastal and southern Maine the Katahdin Region has just the right type of:

Woodlands
Wetlands / Marshes
Vegetation
Ponds

This makes our area a natural haven for moose and deer to flourish. The Katahdin Area has vast forests that extent from Millinocket to Canada with little between but woodlands and wildlife.

Baxter State Park also provides over 200,000 acres of land where wildlife are not hunted, therefore wildlife of all kinds thrive here.

Please keep in mind that our tours are not limited to any one area. To be sure that your safari will give you everything we have to offer we may choose to take you to:

Baxter State Park
The West Branch
Or Parts of Both

Depending on weather conditions and where we have been spotting moose recently. Another factor that determines where we take you is:

Your Physical Condition
The Condition of others on your Tour

These safaris are designed with you in mind so no matter what your physical condition is, if your are breathing this tour is for you, even in stormy weather. Read on to learn more about one such trip in the 1999 season.  We even offer overnight accommodation with an unbelievable price so you won't have to drive after the evening safari is over.  Just click the "overnight accommodations" below or go to overnight accommodations and see how the whole house can be yours at "one room hotel rates".

With a van full of people, excited and ready to see moose we headed to Baxter State Park. After entering the Park the sky turned dark and threatening. I suggested to the guests that we change plans and head in a different direction, even though that meant we had wasted valuable daylight already. I didn't want them to get wet and be uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. If we continued where we were going, a short walk was a must to see moose and was sure to dampen our clothes not to mention our spirits.

Some in the group reluctantly agreed to change plans but reinforced what I already knew; "they wanted to see moose!"

We turned around and headed to another area only to find the sky had already opened up and buckets of rain was coming down, (without the buckets).

To make a long story short, we saw a total of 17 moose that evening and didn't get wet doing it. That is what is so great about some of our spots.

If you do have a physical condition or small children, that might make walking a problem, please let us know when you place your reservations.

Baxter Park is just a few short miles down the road so let us begin there.

Before making any plans please check out our Overnight Accommodations because we know that you will be comfortable and get a good night sleep in our "Home away from Home" at hotel prices.
